          About MySmartPlans

          Shelley Armato and Dominick Armato

Shelley is the Founder and CEO of MySmartPlans. Her husband Dominick is Co-founder and President. They suffered firsthand the effects of chaos in the industry. Dominick, a 45-year contractor, was wildly successful and one project with insufficient data caused them to shut the doors on that company. But they rose again and reinvented the construction industry by streamlining the business.

MySmartPlans is a software-as-a-service solution with an experienced digital information librarian as part of your team, who creates transparency, organization, and efficiency in construction projects. They are the driving force behind Data Governance, which mitigates the risk associated with insufficient document oversight. MySmartPlans has been improving the industry for 16 years and has a revenue aggregate of over 19 billion dollars. Build on time, on schedule, and with audited as pre-discovery files that are proven to prevent litigation!

MySmartPlans has saved thousands of hours in costly rework and has allowed us to collaborate with our team members in the most efficient manner possible.

          Craig Childers

MySmartPlans helped us focus on the project rather than collection of data & documentation. The MSP team knows what needs to be included and does a great job gathering, managing and ensure timey responses on required information. It also gives us a centralized location for project documentation, giving us comfort of knowing where to find information in the future. MSP allows us to work smarter and be smarter.

          Northwest Florida Beaches

Technology has made promises over the years that someday we would all be paperless and all electronic, but there has been a missing link in sharing information between groups. MySmartPlans is the medium that fills that gap.

          Rick Thompson

As a construction litigator…to be able to point and click and find the documentation that relates to that specific change order, whatever, in seconds as opposed to days or weeks manually would be a game changer.

          Bill Quatman

What you offer was a refreshing change because it can take weeks, sometimes months, to get documents from various parties at a construction project. And having an integrated centralized service I think is a great idea…

          Wayne Kalayjian

It’s such an efficient way to share information. The real value is in accelerating our decision making. MySmartPlans was the one place everyone could go to get real time information.

Build With Knowledge

Those who have been on projects with MySmartPlans, know how smoothly a project will run! Those intelligent people work to get us on every project they can. But when we are not included in your project, we hear complaints. We hear how your current system doesn’t work. After a superintendent meeting, (for a project not using MSP) we heard “we need our Approved Submittals posted”, “we need to be able to hold the architect accountable”, “drawings need to be organized,” and “where do we find these solutions?” We are your answer. WE get it, we know that your biggest fear

Everything is Going to be OK

The least desired comment in construction is, “don’t worry, I will handle this.” In a world where our moms would coddle us and say, “it is going to be okay,” just tell your children it will be ok. Unfortunately, in construction where “grownups,” live, work, and support their families, this is the worst thing you want to hear.  I like to hear “we met your scope”, “we finished the job”, and “we were under budget.” Being from the Show Me State of Missouri, we live by the code, “SHOW ME,” MySmartPlans is a Missouri deliverable, everyone has the same information,

Finger-Pointing

The good old finger-pointing game. I have attended several workshops talking about eliminating finger-pointing in the construction industry. Impossible? Literally another IDEA of what is impossible, the game is a finger pointed to draw attention away from the issue. Yesterday I was in a meeting with an owner, he spoke about this, he was accused of saying something he FOR SURE did not say. Then the General Contractor had whipped out meeting minutes showing him their “proof”. My question to the owner was, “who composed and had custody of the meeting minutes”? He looked curiously and said, “the GC”. Have

Truth Matters, Facts Matter, Forensics Matters

I am asked to be on several panels and keynote speaking sessions. My success is sought after. Questions include: How did you do that? Did you fundraise? How big is your sales team? How did you come up with this idea? All the answers start with, I took massive action. I know the challenges I am solving firsthand!   However, sometimes I get a panel prep call that sounds like this: I am going to need you to tamp this down. I am going to have to reel you in. I smile and say “ok”, knowing that I am willing

Being Status Quo Distracts You From Being Something Better

I was raised by an innovator, my father fixed everything with a radiator hose and clamps. I thought this is how it is supposed to be, I did not question it, just try to fix anything broken with a radiator hose and clamp.  Today I have learned that just being status quo and radiator hoses are a thing of the past. Just like the widgets being sold in the construction technology space, being status quo makes you just that. Hoping things turn out differently, hoping the project relationship is one based on “friendship,” and that your project will work out.
